According to the source, the decision on this issue will be made in June. UEFA’s disciplinary regulation states that teams can be suspended for one season if clubs use illegal methods to influence match results. Clubs may be suspended for three years for very serious violations.

On 10 March, Spanish prosecutors filed a criminal complaint against Barcelona in connection with the 7.3 million euro payment the club made to Enrique Negreira, the former head of the RFEF’s refereeing department. If the club’s guilt in this case is proven, Barcelona may be excluded from the Examples and even liquidated.

While the Spanish Football Federation is conducting an internal investigation, it urges the public to remain calm so as not to escalate tensions against the refereeing committee. “This is not good for football, justice takes time, transparency is needed,” the RFEF draws attention.
