Dynamo Kyiv head coach Mircea Lucescu explained why he decided to stay in Ukraine despite the situation in the country.
“You may be wondering why I’m still here. I’ve never been a coward. Even now, even though everything is so hard.
In such a case, I can go to Fenerbahçe in the summer. Two years ago, Dinamo invited me, they convinced me. I came and I succeeded.
I stayed because I can’t stand without football. But I don’t know how long I will stay, because there comes a moment when that’s it, ”said Sport Total, quoting Lucescu.
Lucescu took over Dynamo in the summer of 2020. During this time, he led the team to victory in the national championship, as well as the Ukrainian Cup and Super Cup.
Before that, he worked for 12 years in Shakhtar Donetsk, Dynamo’s main rival in the Ukrainian league. He won 21 national championships with the team and won the UEFA Cup in 2008/09.
After the 17th round of the Ukrainian Premier League (UPL), Dynamo is in fourth place.
Former coach of Shakhtar Donetsk Igor Jovicevich He talked about the record anti-defeat in LE.
