Kate Middleton made her military parade debut as a colonel in the Irish Guard. It has been reported daily mail.
Last Friday, 17 March, the Prince and Princess of Wales took the parade of the 1st Battalion of the Irish Guards at Aldershot (Hampshire, England) to mark St Patrick’s Day. Before the parade began, Prince William delivered a speech in which he formally handed over the rank of Colonel of the Irish Guard, which had been his since 2011, to his wife, Kate Middleton. He also said that it was a great honor for him.
Kate Middleton wore an azure jacket dress by the British brand Catherine Walker & Co and completed it with a cap and matching pumps. Another important detail in the image was a gold clover brooch from Cartier. It belongs to the Irish Guard, and only representatives of the British royal family related to the regiment can wear it and only on special occasions. Thus, Queen Mother Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon and her granddaughter, Queen Elizabeth II. Elizabeth’s daughter, Princess Anne, appeared. Kate Middleton has been wearing the jewelry since 2011.
At the end of December 2022, Charles III honored Kate Middleton with the rank of Colonel in the Irish Army. At the same time, Queen Consort Camilla assumed the rank of Colonel of the Grenadier Army, previously held by Prince Andrew.
