Russian grandmaster Sergey Karyakin, who was elected as the Chairman of the Moscow Region Chess Federation (FSHP), talked about cooperation with the Russian Chess Federation (FSHR). Earlier, the head of the FSHP, Andrey Filatov, congratulated Karjakin on his election and, while listing the important aspects of the development of chess in the Moscow region, expressed hope for constructive cooperation with the new leadership of the FSHP. Karyakin said that he had no doubts about the possibility of establishing a dialogue with the FSR.
“Thanks to Andrei Vasilyevich for the congratulations. As for his vision for the development of chess in the Moscow region, I will take it into account. I have my own understanding of development, but still an outside look will not be superfluous. I’m sure we will find a way to contact FSR, we want to do only one thing – improve chess. At least I am inclined to a full-fledged dialogue with the Russian Chess Federation. There are people I communicate with at FSR, I came with my team, not alone. We will find a way to continue the dialogue.
We are not officially affiliated with the FSR, so we are literally not obligated to report. But, of course, we will maintain normal relations, especially since we are all in the same development paradigm,” he said.
Filatov stressed that FSR expects Karjakin and his team to provide a timely competition schedule. He also noted the importance of organizing championships and regional championships with a good prize fund, organizing tournaments for all segments of the population. The head of the RSF noted that new chess centers should be created in the region, stages of “Belaya Ladya” should be built in all cities of the region. Filatov also recalled the development of the Chess program in Schools and other social projects.
