From 1 March, new rules will apply for testing drivers for alcohol intoxication. The main change concerns the verification procedure: it can be carried out without witnesses, but with mandatory video recording.
According to the innovations, if a driver is suspected of being drunk, traffic police inspectors can conduct an investigation with the participation of two testifying witnesses or using video recordings. Reasons for testing can be: the smell of alcohol from the breath, instability of the body, speech disorders, a sharp change in the skin color of the face or behavior that is inappropriate for the situation.
The study must be carried out with measuring instruments of an approved type, which ensure that the results are recorded on paper.
According to the rules, the condition of a driver is considered alcohol intoxication if the indicator exceeds 0.16 milligrams per liter of exhaled air.
Earlier we talked about the fact that the driver cannot independently go to the clinic for a medical examination (only by traffic police car).
- Drivers were also barred from self-examination for alcohol.
- “Behind the wheel” can now be read in Telegram.
