This will be the eleventh and twelfth game in which Jürgen Klopp faces Real Madrid. In six of those he did it as coach of Borussia Dortmund and in the other four as manager of Liverpool.

The balance of Real Madrid against Jürgen Klopp is as follows: three wins, two draws and five defeats in the ten games in which he faced the German coach. It should also be noted that Klopp’s three wins against Real Madrid as Dortmund coach were: with Liverpool he has not yet beaten Real Madrid (one draw and two defeats).

What’s more, Klopp has won only one of Real Madrid’s five qualifiers, curiously enough in the first. The German coach knocked out the Whites in the semi-finals in the 2012-13 season with José Mourinho on the Real Madrid bench, winning 4-1 in the first leg and losing 2-0 in the second leg.

The next course, Ancelotti’s men knocked them out in the quarter-finals with a 3-0 in the first leg and a 2-0 in the second leg in Germany and lost the finals in 2018 and 2022 (3-1 and 0-1) and also in the quarter-finals of 2021 (3-1 and 0-0).
