Yesterday afternoon a good friend from Valencia wrote to me and told me, with very good judgment, that Valencia CF should find a coach who is used to living with the pressure not to go to the second division, with experience and who would also come to Mestalla as a showcase to show itself to the football world. I watched him and the anti-meriton detector I had installed in my brain years ago went off and I said to myself, mistake. That style of coach doesn’t exist now to come to Mestalla. Because the big question is who wants to come and train at Valencia CF? Complicated answer.
I think the obvious profile of what Lim can find in the market right now is this: someone he’s offering a huge salary to, something he can’t because of Fair Play, someone with a lot of name but little experience , someone with little tour and unnamed or a friend of Jorge Mendes looking for a chance in the League to promote himself.
The truth is whoever comes it won’t be a coach in the style of what has historically come to Valencia CF because there won’t be a coach you can choose because he is doing very well somewhere less than Valenica but ask for a step or a proven technician because right now those people don’t even sit down to listen to Lim.
It should be taken into account that the last five coaches Lim signed have left Valencia CF in strange circumstances. Prandelli, Marcelino, Gracia, Bordalás and Gattuso have left through the back door and all with the common denominator of broken promises since Singapore. Lim is already known to the entire football world and now he is no longer fooling anyone. For this reason whoever comes will not be able to tell us the story that they have been deceived, they will have to take what is now in Valencia CF and take a team with at least a moderate risk of being relegated to the Second Division.
Lim set fire to all the ships. He has burned all possible friends and now he cannot find any solvent football people who want to come. It already happened to him in the summer with Ramón Planes, Leonardo and Braulio. Before the bank I already knew then that I had Gattuso, but now I have no one, because Gattuso is tired of him eight months after arriving.
The situation is irreversible at all levels but in the next few hours it seems certain that the club will sign a new coach at least that’s what they are trying to do but they don’t do it in the open field anymore they do it in a smaller hunting ground because fewer and fewer want to come and work at Valencia CF de Lim.
