Former Paris Saint-Germain football player Jerome Rothen has opposed forward Lionel Messi’s renewal of his contract with the Paris club.
Let’s remind, PSG’s football advisor, Luis Campos, confirmed that talks are continuing for a new deal with the 35-year-old striker.
“This is a terrible idea for a team. PSG’s problem is precisely when there are few stars.
Messi’s contract extension is complete nonsense. Especially given the explosive growth in payroll. They have reached the limits of financial fair play.
I don’t see why it needs to be extended, especially in terms of display. Messi does not make an effort to promote the club, does not thank the fans. Rothen didn’t even make a nice gesture on his behalf, in a statement to RMC Sport.
Messi moved from Barcelona to PSG in the 2021 summer transfer window. His contract with the club expires in the summer of 2023. The forward has recorded 10 goals and 10 assists in 18 games in the French championship this season.
It was previously reported that Lionel Messi. known Best player in South America in 2022 according to the International Federation of Football History and Statistics (IFFHS).
