We bring you all the information about the definition of the trophy contested in Saudi Arabia.

The Super Cup Spain 2023 will know this Sunday, January 15, which team will win the championship title. Real Madrid will defend the 2022 crown against Barcelona and we will have Clásico despite the fact that Betis and Valencia managed to avoid it and only fell in the penalty shootout.

It should be remembered that a few years ago the Royal Spanish Football Federation designed a complete format change so that the Spanish Super Cup would be played in a Final Four, breaking with the traditional model of cup champion and league champion and that is what it’s like again in 2023, with Betis, Real Madrid, Barcelona and Valencia as finalists.

The first edition under this format was won by Real Madrid after beating Atlético de Madrid on penalties in a thrilling final (Valencia and Barça were the other two participants, played in Saudi Arabia), which was played by Athletic Club in early 2021 after comeback against Barcelona (Real Madrid and Real Sociedad also participated and it was played at three venues in Andalusia) and finally it was conquered by Real Madrid in 2022 after beating FC Barcelona in the semifinals (3-2) and Athletics Club de Bilbao (2-0)
