Former Real Madrid player Gareth Bale has announced his retirement.

“I am announcing my immediate retirement from club and international football. Bale shared on his social media account, “The decision to quit international football is by far the most difficult of my career.

Bale’s last club was Los Angeles. He also played for Southampton, Tottenham and Real Madrid. As part of the “royal club”, he became the champion of Spain three times, and also won the Champions League five times.

Bale made 111 appearances for Wales and scored 41 goals. In 2016, he became the bronze medalist of the European Championship.

Hugo Lloris, former captain and goalkeeper of the French national football team retired in the national team.

The 36-year-old has been playing in France since 2008 and has played in 145 matches, captaining 121 of them. He broke the record for the number of matches played by the national team at the 2022 World Cup held in Qatar.
