Russia withdrew from the convention on criminal liability for corruption due to the actions of the Council of Europe (CE). This was expressed by the French Embassy CoE Affairs Group on Twitter.
Diplomats called the actions of the Council of Europe illegal, and as a result, Russia was forced to repeal the Criminal Law Convention on Anti-Corruption.
The embassy announced that Russia does not intend to participate in the work of the bodies of the Council of Europe in case of restrictions on the rights of representatives of the country.
As stated, Moscow will continue to condemn other agreements.
