The press service of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) announced the amount of contribution to Russia in 2023.
Russia’s annual contribution to WADA in 2023 will be $1,267,023. TASS words of the representative of the press service of the organization.
The annual contribution from Russia to WADA is paid by the Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation. The contribution to Russia for 2022 was $1,177,557. The United States pays the most – $3,166,477.
Veronika Loginova, former Director General of the Russian Anti-Doping Agency (RUSADA) statedthat there is currently no guarantee for the restoration of RUSADA’s status after the implementation of WADA’s comments.
Recall that on December 17, 2020, the Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS) softened WADA sanctions and reduced Russia’s suspension to two years: the Russians could not compete in major international tournaments under their country’s flag until December 16, 2022.
Within two years (or earlier, in agreement with WADA), RUSADA had to meet a number of conditions, including an audit, to restore compliance with the World Anti-Doping Code.
