Villena’s local PSOE leader names the current mayor as the candidate for the next municipal elections
The local head of the Villena Socialist Workers’ Party has designated the sitting mayor, Fulgencio Cerdán, as the candidate for the upcoming town hall elections.
“To me this represents an honor, pride, and a heavy responsibility,” he stated, noting that Cerdán will again lead the party’s bid to govern Villena. The four years in office have been challenging, marked by efforts to address entrenched problems and to kickstart numerous initiatives slowed by the health crisis that affected the entire century. At the heart of the government’s work has been a commitment to streamline processes and advance the progress and development of Villena.”
The message also highlighted Cerdán’s role as the city’s first mayor and as a provincial deputy.

The mayor confirmed that the PSOE has a clear roadmap. “We have accelerated our work after two years of necessary restraint. The pandemic imposed costs in many areas, but the commitment remains unwavering, and we will continue to work tirelessly.”
Cerdán expressed gratitude to his party and to the municipal group for their ongoing support, noting appreciation for the work and encouragement from colleagues. He also thanked his family for their love, respect, drive, and steady help, along with the many friends and neighbors who offered support and encouragement during tough times.
