Carlos Mazón, president of PPCV, criticized health services in Villena this Saturday during a public event. He described the current situation as a standstill and said the Arrangement Plan failed due to incompetence by the central government. He also promised improvements to the rail links, stressing their essential role in the Alto Vinalopó region’s economic development and noting a significant deficit under the central leadership.

Mazón, who visited the Fiestas del Medievo market with his candidate, PP Mayor Miguel Ángel Salguero, branded the Edificant Plan in Villena as a failure. He argued that execution across the Valencian Community was minimal, and that public education had been neglected by the regional government, which he described as the most expensive in history. The PPCV leader pledged to advance eight projects pending in the town, noting that the current leadership has completed only one during the entire period.

On health matters, the PPCV president claimed that the regional government intends to expand the Villena residency healthcare portfolio and work to reduce delays in medical services. He criticized the Valencian Community leadership for not only delays in operations but also in diagnostic tests and family doctor consultations. Mazón argued that it is unacceptable for patients to wait up to 15 days to see a doctor at the health center. He also criticized the state of SAMU ambulances and accused the current administration of inept healthcare management, while calling for faster and more reliable medical attention.

In terms of infrastructure, the PPCV leader lamented that the Sánchez government did not restore train connections to Villena, noting that some routes were cut during the pandemic. He emphasized that good connectivity with Alicante and Madrid is key to regional economic development and stated that the Consell would initiate a connection with Villena’s AVE station as part of a broader improvement plan for the area.

Mazón concluded with a commitment to promote more industrial land in Villena and to streamline procedures for entrepreneurs seeking to start a business. He argued that job creators deserve simpler processes and announced the introduction of zero quotas for new jobs through the PP program aimed at self-employment and for those who want to rejoin the formal economy after a period away. The remarks drew support from Magdalena Martínez, the mayor of Biar, and Miguel Ángel Salguero, the Villena PP candidate, who attended the event as part of the campaign efforts.
