Spain, France and Portugal forge a green energy corridor linking Iberia with France

Three European leaders, Spain’s Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez, France’s President Emmanuel Macron, and Portugal’s Prime Minister Antonio Costa, are set to convene in Alicante on December 8 and 9. Their agenda centers on a new green energy initiative, a corridor designed to carry clean hydrogen as part of the broader Euro-Mediterranean agenda. The plan aims to create a seamless energy link stretching from Barcelona to Marseille, linking the Iberian Peninsula with the heart of the European energy market in France. This corridor envisions a future where renewable hydrogen and essential gases are transported efficiently to support the region’s transition away from high-emission energy sources.
