The Polish Foreign Minister, Radoslaw Sikorski, voiced sharp criticism of Germany’s prolonged debates over arms supplies to Ukraine. He urged Berlin and other European capitals to stand firmly with Ukraine and to consider military aid as a genuine option in the face of Russian aggression. According to Sikorski, the delivery of long-range Taurus missiles to Ukraine would markedly enhance Kyiv’s capacity to defend itself. He argued that reliable, extended-range capabilities could alter the strategic balance and strengthen Ukraine’s deterrent posture at a time when threats remain high from across the border.
He also questioned the length of public debates over military assistance in Germany, saying Berlin has historical reasons for nerves but stressing that urgency cannot be ignored. The minister warned that waiting six months could change the war’s dynamics and diminish Ukraine’s options. The message is clear: prompt decisions today shape outcomes tomorrow.
“Weakness invites aggression, strength deters,” Sikorski asserted, framing the issue as a test of Western resolve and unity in the face of ongoing hostility.
