PKW: The Commission cannot request which ballots should be issued

In a notice addressed to district election committees, the National Electoral Commission instructed them to immediately inform district committees that a voter has the right to reject ballot papers, and that district committees are not allowed to ask which ballots should be issued.

In a statement, the National Electoral Commission noted numerous complaints that district election commissions ask voters which ballots to cast. It recommends promptly informing district commissions that such actions are unacceptable and that their role is to issue ballots as outlined in points 49-51 of the Guidelines for District Electoral Commissions. These guidelines cover the tasks and procedures for preparing and conducting votes in voting districts established for the Sejm of the Republic of Poland, the Senate of the Republic of Poland, and the national referendum.
