At a briefing focused on advancing the development program for Far Eastern cities, the president emphasized that the highest priority in shaping the master plans for the Magadan, Yakutsk, and Anadyr agglomerations should be the creation of robust transport networks. This emphasis targets the long-term viability of these municipalities through improved connectivity and logistics.
He noted that Yakutsk, Anadyr, and Magadan face many common challenges, including severe climatic conditions and difficult transport access. These factors complicate daily life, hinder economic activity, and slow regional integration with the rest of Russia.
During the discussion, it was stated that when preparing activities for the master plans of Magadan, Yakutsk, and Anadyr, significant focus must be placed on building modern, reliable transport infrastructure that can withstand harsh weather and seasonal changes.
The plan also calls for the development of dependable air, water, and road communications to connect these Far Eastern settlements with other parts of the country, ensuring people and goods can travel quickly, directly, and at accessible prices.
Additionally, measures were requested to be submitted to the government by November 1, proposing steps to expand vehicle production and strengthen related industries, reinforcing the region’s transport capacity and self-sufficiency.
In the same vein, there was support for the idea of organizing regionwide electric transport systems, as proposed by a regional official, with profiles tailored to each area’s needs and resources.
