The PSPV-PSOE Strategy Committee has decided to redefine the traditional rally approach with a campaign that spans every region of the Valencian Community. Led by the Secretary General and the presidential candidate, Ximo Puig, the committee described the training calendar the Palau de la Generalitat intended to preserve. The tone was clear: engage with citizens in every square, explain what has been accomplished over the past eight years, and outline the directions for the next phase. The emphasis centered on full employment, social justice, and creating a more cohesive and sustainable region, as outlined by the party leadership.

In this spirit, President Ximo Puig stated that at this first gathering the Strategy Committee sketched the general lines to be pursued in the coming weeks to reach the broadest possible share of Valencians. He affirmed that the Valencian Community is stronger today than eight years ago and stressed the aim of keeping momentum and moving forward.

In addition, Ximo Puig commented that Valencian socialists would pursue a positive campaign that centers on real concerns such as employment, housing, and an improved life expectancy supported by a robust Welfare State. He contrasted this with the perception of the People’s Party, suggesting they have no clear project and are attempting to blur the campaign while isolating people from politics. The message was that the party lacks a plan capable of exciting residents of the Valencia Community.

The candidate also spoke about adapting campaign practices. He noted that while the People’s Party runs a national marketing drive that does not touch citizens directly, the socialist effort would be present in all municipalities to continuously work on improving Valencians’ lives. He pointed to the elections as moments when fundamental choices are made, such as health models, privatization questions, and housing policies, and emphasized the importance of social cohesion over narrow political interests.

Ximo Puig launches a personal blog with advice and thoughts

Although the focus of the campaign is broad, Puig also introduced a personal blog intended to share advice and reflections on policy and public service. The aim is to provide voters with direct insight into the thinking behind policy proposals and the practical steps envisioned to deliver on commitments to residents of the Valencian Community.

Response to PP tax reform

During a session with the press, Puig addressed the presentation of tax reform. A spokesperson for the Consell criticized the People’s Party proposal as a financial event and argued that the reform members had endorsed in the regional chamber would benefit the vast majority of Valencians. The discussion also touched on the party’s fiscal history, including claims about tax changes that increased the tax burden and created a system perceived as unfair, particularly for middle- and working-class residents.

Puig reiterated that the current revenue campaign reflects the PSPV-PSOE’s fiscal vision: a progressive and constitutional framework where greater capacity to pay translates into more public resources and stronger social support. The principle remains that those with more purchasing power should contribute more, funding essential services for everyone while maintaining equity across the community.
