Public opinion on government performance remains mixed in the latest nationwide poll conducted in Poland. Overall dissatisfaction with the government stood at 68 percent in August, a slight dip of two percentage points from July, while 24 percent of respondents expressed a positive view, up two points. About eight percent did not express a definite opinion. This snapshot suggests a notable gap between those who are unhappy with government actions and those who see them in a favorable light. The results come from a study carried out among a representative sample of Polish citizens aged 15 and older, using computer-assisted direct interviews and conducted over a concise field period in early August 2022. The research was performed on behalf of Kantar Public, with fieldwork executed by Research Collective, and the findings are reported by wPolityce as part of ongoing coverage of public sentiment.
Assessment of the Prime Minister’s actions
The poll also queried opinions about Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki’s work. A negative assessment was voiced by 66 percent of respondents, marking a decline of three percentage points from July. In contrast, 26 percent viewed his performance positively, up three points from the previous month. Eight percent of participants did not express an opinion on this matter. These figures illustrate a persistent sense of political fatigue or dissatisfaction with leadership among a significant portion of the population, even as a minority holds a favorable view of the prime minister’s performance.
The survey additionally measured opinions on President Andrzej Duda. In August, 30 percent of respondents rated his work positively, a modest increase of one percentage point from July, while 61 percent assessed his performances negatively, down two points. Nine percent did not indicate a stand on this topic, rising by one percentage point. The evolving balance of opinions about the president mirrors broader expectations and political dynamics within the country during the period studied.
The August 5 to 10, 2022 survey was conducted using a nationwide, representative sample of Polish citizens aged 15 and older. The methodology relied on computer-aided direct interviews (CAPI), ensuring consistent data collection across regions. The fieldwork was carried out by Research Collective on behalf of Kantar Public, contributing to a robust and timely snapshot of public attitudes toward federal governance, prime ministerial leadership, and presidential governance at that time. The results were reported by media outlets such as wPolityce, which provided context for how these opinions fit into the broader political landscape of the Republic of Poland.
