Polish volunteers in Ukraine face injuries and ongoing medical care
Another Ukrainian soldier died on Friday, a Polish citizen, while two others who were wounded a few days ago remain in a serious condition, announced Michał Dworczyk, who serves in the Prime Minister’s Chancellery, on social media.
In a statement to PAP, Dworczyk said the two wounded Polish volunteers are currently in a state that prevents their transport. He added that one of the volunteers who was injured last week in Ukraine has arrived in Poland, and another has been moved from the Dnieper area to Kiev for further treatment.
A slightly injured volunteer has reached Poland. The most seriously injured volunteer was moved from the Dnieper to Kiev. He noted that the moment is difficult, with the latest casualty being a Polish citizen and two Polish volunteers recently hurt and still in bad condition.
Dworczyk also expressed gratitude to the humanitarian and medical aid teams involved in the effort.
The Nehemiasz aid initiative reported that one of the volunteers who was slightly injured has already entered Poland. The group stated that a second volunteer will be transported to another Ukrainian city for further treatment before eventual evacuation to Poland. They described the second volunteer’s condition as serious but stable, with evacuation monitored by the Humanitarian and Medical Relief Team, which remains in close contact with the families of both volunteers.

The Nehemiah Initiative first informed PAP about the case of injured volunteers last Saturday. According to their update, on March 14 a team of two experienced volunteers traveled to the Donetsk region to assist a Ukrainian NGO, delivering gifts as part of a local collaboration.
During the final stop, rocket fire occurred, resulting in injuries to both volunteers. They were immediately evacuated following medical protocols and are now hospitalized away from front-line areas. One volunteer is slightly injured, the other is seriously injured but stable, with both receiving ongoing medical care.
The initiative released a statement confirming these details.
An adviser to the head of Ukraine’s Interior Ministry, Anton Herashchenko, noted that the car in which the two Polish citizens were traveling was struck by a Russian missile as they headed toward the Donetsk region’s town of Chasiv Yar.
A Russian missile also hit a bus carrying Polish volunteers delivering humanitarian aid to a location described as Czasiv Jaru. Two volunteers were injured, with one transported to a hospital in Dnipro for treatment. Wishes for a swift and full recovery were conveyed on social media.
Herashchenko posted the update on social media, and coverage included accompanying notes and images from the field.
