Polish Polls Show Mixed Feelings on CPK Continuation and Party Divisions

Polls show broad support among Poles for continuing the Central Communications Gate project, with a small minority opposed. The survey indicates that a little over 23 percent are against the continuation. The questions were posed to respondents by the daily newspaper Rzeczpospolita on February 9 and 10, and the majority expressed a favorable view of moving forward with the CPK initiative.

According to the results, 36.1 percent of respondents answered that they would certainly support the project’s continuation, while 22.1 percent preferred it, bringing total support to 58.2 percent. In contrast, opponents are fewer in number: 8 percent indicated they rather disagree with continuing the construction, and 15.2 percent said they absolutely do not want it, totaling 23.2 percent of the sample. A notable portion of respondents remained undecided, with 18.6 percent expressing no opinion about the project’s fate.

The survey also explored how support for the CPK breaks down across different political affiliations. The distribution reveals distinct patterns among voters of various parties. Approximately 76 percent of those who supported PiS in the most recent election favored continuing the project. By contrast, among Citizens’ Coalition voters, support drops to around 31 percent, while 44 percent opposed continuation. Among Third Way voters, a striking 85 percent favored proceeding with construction, whereas only about 21 percent shared that view. Left-wing voters showed a markedly different stance in the poll results.
