Crevillent Partido Popular has named Lourdes Aznar as mayoral candidate, with Antonio Candel Rives occupying the number two slot on the 28 May election list. Candel Rives is a former vice president of the Moors and Christians association. At the nomination presentation held this afternoon, after the Lodge Selection Committee confirmed the list, Aznar stated that none of the current councilors would hold top positions. The aim is to demonstrate a new phase that brings change, fresh energy, and proven experience to Crevillent.
So things stand as Vicente Sanchez-Macia Díez, the finance director of a private company, will be in position three. A lawyer will follow, with Monica San Emeterio, athlete Gil David Amoros Candela, and engineer and teacher Pilar del Carmen More appearing in positions four, five, and six respectively. The current councilor Pedro Garcia Magro remains at position seven, while Miguel Ángel Sánchez, the municipal spokesperson for the PP and the current provincial deputy, takes position eight. Position nine is assigned to Francisco Verdu Ros. The hospital’s head, a long-time figure in the community, takes position ten, Maria Figueira Bueno, a social health worker and head of the Gender Equality and Violence Health commissions at Hospital de la Vega Baja.
Position eleven welcomes a new addition, Doctor Elodie Moreno Puig, while a current member of parliament, Laura Gomis, moves to position twelve. Alfredo Mas Mateu advances to position thirteen. Although the party had announced that the mayor had resigned to pursue higher roles, the list continues as planned with new and experienced figures alike.
At position fourteen, self-employed Enrique Martínez García is listed, followed by dental hygienist Sonia Lledó Pérez at number fifteen.
HE number sixteen will be occupied by bank employee Juan Bautista Pérez. The next slot, seventeen, goes to Professor Cristina Pérez Bernad’s neighbor Ángeles Rovira, a housewife, who will be in position eighteen on the list. Nineteen is reserved for historic member Paco Parres Sánchez, and the list closes with Juana Guirao and José Antonio Serna, former members of the twentieth and twenty-first councilors respectively at positions twenty and twenty-one.
Surprise on Crevillent PP list: Lourdes Aznar signs Monica San Emeterio
Azar emphasized that more than half of the list is composed of brand-new names but includes well-known faces in Crevillente society. He pointed out that he also participated in constructing this candidacy and highlighted the blend of experienced council members with newcomers who bring fresh municipal life knowledge. In his view, there is a strong sense of enthusiasm to perform well and to seize the opportunity to work for the town. The overall message is clear: change on the street is reflected in this team, and with renewed energy the mayor’s office can return to serving Crevillent’s needs and the town’s future.
