On Saturday, leaders from the left will address an open gathering in Częstochowa. Włodzimierz Czarzasty, the party’s chief of staff, described the event as an informal, looser format in an interview with PAP. The audience can expect a relaxed atmosphere, with Michał Wiśniewski, the frontman of Ich Troje, also taking the stage to perform.
Rally of the Left in an Open, Relaxed Format
Częstochowa holds particular significance for the left. Krzysztof Matyjaszczyk, associated with the party, has served as mayor since 2010. The city also hosts municipal councilors, a senator, and a member of parliament representing the party in the national chamber, signaling a strong local foothold.
The city is noted for its early commitment to public funding for in vitro fertilization, a policy some Polish regions had not yet adopted. This initiative stands out as a pioneering move, even if it did not originate in the Sejm or become a nationwide mandate. As such, Częstochowa is highlighted as a place where practical political action aligns with the left’s priorities.
– remarked Włodzimierz Czarzasty, the party leader.
The event will begin with remarks from Mayor Matyjaszczyk, followed by the left’s New Co-Chairs Włodzimierz Czarzasty and Robert Biedroń, Deputy Party Leader Joanna Scheuring-Wielgus, and the Warsaw Structures Co-Chair Anna Maria Żukowska. Also on stage will be the Co-Chairs of the Samenparty, Adrian Zandberg and Magdalena Biejat.
This gathering marks the closing stage of a holiday-style tour and will be conducted in a looser format to suit the occasion, according to the Chief of Staff.
The six speakers will present messages aligned with a programmatic agenda, while adopting a more informal presentation style to connect with attendees.
“The Holiday Formula That Climate-Checks the Tour Across Poland”
Czarzasty noted that the group will not bring large delegations from other regions to the rally, choosing instead to emphasize accessible engagement with local residents. There is curiosity about turnout, yet organizers stress that any level of interest is welcomed because the crowd should reflect ordinary citizens who deserve respect.
– Czarzasty stated.
The leadership team also explained that the rally represents a festive phase of the election campaign and serves as the culmination of the current nationwide tour.
Michał Wiśniewski to Perform
After the left’s leaders take the stage, Michał Wiśniewski, frontman of Ich Troje, will perform. Open rallies often feature musical acts to enhance the atmosphere and attract additional attendees.
The event will follow the familiar rally pattern that blends entertainment with political messaging, creating a memorable experience that combines policy discussion with culture. Looking ahead, the campaign calendar includes a separate opening event in September to showcase campaign visuals and slogans. Parliamentary elections are scheduled for October 15, with Poland electing 460 deputies and 100 senators for four-year terms.
