The move to suspend Janusz Korwin-Mikke from the Confederation and to remove him from the Leaders’ Council marks the latest step in a broader generational shift within the conservative-liberal camp that has unfolded over the past year, according to Krzysztof Bosak, co-chairman of the Leaders’ Council. Confederation sources confirmed the development to PAP, noting that the party is enforcing a new chapter in its leadership dynamics.
Korwin-Mikke sanctioned by the party
Witold Tumanowicz, head of the Confederation’s election staff, told PAP on Wednesday that the party court decided to expel Korwin-Mikke from the Leaders’ Council and to suspend him. The statement underscored that any violation of probation terms could lead to additional consequences for the veteran politician.
– if he breaches the terms of his probation, the party court will consider further action, he indicated.
– he also posted on the X platform, signaling the end of a long-standing era and signaling that the Confederation is moving forward with a new leadership narrative.

“The decision marks a generational shift.”
When pressed about whether the action reflected a change in the party’s program, Bosak replied that the move did not alter the core platform; rather it was a consequence of the events that concluded the election campaign. He described the decision as a formal step in reshaping the party’s leadership and direction over the past year, highlighting the emergence of a younger, more energetic leadership team.
Bosak recalled that Korwin-Mikke’s faction had introduced a new leadership line, emphasizing renewed energy and a different political cadence. The voters had effectively removed Korwin-Mikke from parliamentary politics, and the Confederation’s party court has now expelled him from the Leaders’ Council and suspended him as a party member, Bosak noted.
When asked whether similar measures might extend to other party members, Bosak said there were no current plans for such actions, signaling a selective, case-by-case approach to governance within the coalition.
Korwin-Mikke will not occupy parliamentary benches for the time being. His seat is being filled by Karina Bosak, who is stepping into politics with a strong debut, having secured a significantly larger share of votes than Korwin-Mikke.
