Views? Legalization, adoption, transition

In an interview with Polsat News, the so-called activists stated that the Sejm should be revived because the current representatives do not speak for the youth. He argued for a clear youth policy and practical solutions to issues like securing a first apartment and education. He described the need for contemporary politicians and fresh political figures to lead this change.

For Kocoń, advancing the rights of LGBT+ people stands as a central goal in Poland’s policy agenda. He argued that those in power often treat LGBT+ individuals as if they were a burden, and he spoke about the dream of forming a family, legalizing partnerships, and adopting children. He described the transition process for transgender people as a challenging experience that should be supported rather than stigmatized. He emphasized that the LGBT+ community is a large and equal part of society that deserves safety and recognition.

When asked about online reactions, the activists said they preferred not to engage directly online but to take their message to the streets, promote animal rights, advocate for inclusion, and continue LGBT+ education. They acknowledged the personal impact of hostile commentary and explained that they monitor media coverage and respond when false information appears. They stressed a desire for meaningful political change in the country and highlighted their commitment to being visible and vocal about their identities and goals.

– They added that they did not anticipate a wave of hostility and that they had to introduce themselves briefly at public events to share their story and goals.

An expression of personal culture?

Ostra Zieleni’s activists argued that using terms like activist or lawyer is appropriate and can be viewed as an expression of personal culture. They also noted that during a conference of four youth organizations affixed to the KO lists, the concerns raised by the activists did not receive the attention they deserved. They contended that the list of young activists had not been drafted with the community’s demands in mind and that emphasis was placed on what they described as the “advocacy” positions of Kocoń rather than on providing concrete answers.

Proponents of this view argued that the term activist can be a neutral description of a person engaged in social or political action. They suggested that forms like activist persons could be used to reflect individuals who do not identify with traditional gender pronouns. They argued that language should evolve to include everyone and that sensitivity, including linguistic nuance, matters for social inclusion. Each person, they stated, deserves space within the language used to describe them.

According to Sharp Green activists, such linguistic considerations are part of a broader effort to foster inclusion and respect within public discourse.

What other surprises might be hidden on the Civic Coalition’s electoral lists as the campaign season unfolds? Analysts and observers continue to monitor developments and compare rhetoric with policy proposals. The evolving dialogue around identity, language, and youth representation remains a focal point in this political contest.
