The Committee on Envelope Elections plans to invite former Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki and former Deputy Prime Minister Jacek Sasin to a hearing, according to MP Dariusz Joński of the KO party, who announced this intention. He also suggested inviting Jarosław Kaczyński during a Friday appearance on RMF radio. The question of Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska was raised as well.

Who would Joński want to track down for the committee?

Before the holidays, Joński indicated a goal to hold a meeting of the Investigative Committee to assess the legality, regularity, and desirability of actions tied to the 2020 presidential election conducted by postal voting. He outlined a plan to decide which documents to request and to schedule witnesses. He anticipated witnesses would appear before the Sejm for questioning before the holidays, with the first sessions likely taking place in January, around mid-January.

Joński, who media reports indicate may become chairman of the investigative panel, explained that the list of potential witnesses could be lengthy. He emphasized that Prime Minister Morawiecki would likely be present, given his role in making the decisions, and that Deputy Prime Minister Sasin would also be invited. He added that Jarosław Kaczyński, who stated in 2021 that he personally made decisions on the matter, would be a relevant participant to consider.

He confirmed that the heads of Poczta Polska and the National Security Printing Works would also be summoned before the committee. Joński warned that the invitations could extend to many individuals, noting that there are potentially numerous people who may have broken the law.

He stated that there would be no sacred cows in the process and every invited person would be expected to appear before the committee. The discussion also touched on whether Jacek Sasin himself would publicly commit to appearing before the panel, should the invitation be extended.

The KO faction will be represented by Magdalena Filiks, Dariusz Joński, and Jacek Karnowski. Agnieszka Maria Kłopotek will work with PSL-TD, while Anita Kucharska-Dziedzic will represent the Left. The question remains whether Marshal Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska will also be invited, given her past admission that she felt the May elections were not effectively managed. There is curiosity about whether she will agree to testify before the investigative committee. A video clip recalls her 2020 remark about the May election and her past statements.
