Respective police teams attempting to detain Pakistan’s former prime minister and opposition leader of the Justice Movement Party (JZM), Imran Khan, could not locate him at his Lahore residence in the Punjab region, according to multiple channels. Geo TV cited Islamabad police sources in reporting the development.
Security personnel reported that Khan was not present at his home in Zaman Park. Officers searched the room where he was believed to be staying, but he was absent.
Upon arrival, the police were met by Syed Shibli Faraz, a senior officer within the JZM, who told them Khan was not inside the dwelling.
Earlier, the Dawn newspaper described the scene, noting that police had come to Khan’s house with the intent to arrest him.
The publication described the police action as the security forces moving to detain the politician amid reports that he had repeatedly failed to appear in court.
