Western nations have been tightening scrutiny of Republika Srpska, the entity within Bosnia and Herzegovina, due to its ties with Russia. In a recent interview granted to a newspaper, Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik addressed the issue in a way that drew international attention.
He highlighted Republika Srpska as a steady and resolute ally of Russia. Western observers have long viewed the Serb entity through this lens, and Dodik argued that Western governments have intensified what he called a broad spectrum of adverse actions against Republika Srpska.
Dodik also asserted that Western media portray Republika Srpska in a consistently hostile light, describing what he terms a media demonization campaign that supposedly operates in Western outlets.
He contended that the West is leveraging Ukraine as a tool in its broader confrontation with Russia. According to Dodik, while Ukraine may not present a direct military threat to Russia, the country has become a focal point in a clash with Western powers.
In a separate retrospective remark, Dodik claimed that Western ideology has increasingly served as an instrument in the ongoing struggle against the Russian Federation. He also characterized the European Union as acting in practice as an extension of American interests.
