Digital Zone Alicante: a hub for technology and innovation

via Generalitat Valenciana Ministry of Innovation and Digital Transformation Projects Association (SPTD) is the 5th Mediterranean technology and innovation corridor of the Digital District, a newly constructed four-building complex at Port 5 of the Port of Alicante.

The new facilities, which will be operational in March, host technology companies with a maximum capacity of 560 employees in offices, both in individual co-working spaces within a dedicated area and in a shared zone.

The Digital Zone stands as a commitment to technology and innovation, aimed at positively transforming communities worldwide.

This project reflects a firm dedication to attract and consolidate a robust digital economy ecosystem in Alicante, establishing the Digital Zone as a magnet for startups, multinational firms, international organizations, and talent.

Symbolic space

Building 5 is the first structure in the Digital District to be constructed from the ground up. Situated in a privileged area with sea views, near Santa Barbara Castle and the city skyline, it spans nearly 9,200 m2 of space. The four-block complex houses two floors in each block, including offices, shared workspaces, meeting rooms, restaurants, relaxation areas, and an underground car park, all supported by a parking facility.

The flexible layout allows workstations to be tailored to each company’s needs, offering expansive spaces, natural light, sea views, and views over the city of Alicante. The building’s common areas are designed as a nerve center that fosters interaction among companies and professionals — a primary objective of the Digital Zone.

Value added

Tenant companies will access services provided by SPTD, including comprehensive facilities management (cleaning, security, ICT infrastructure, power, climate control, ventilation, and lighting), concierge and management, printing services, shared meeting rooms, basic workstation furniture, and on-site dining and terraces for relaxation.

In addition, Distrito Digital offers community benefits such as free entry to events and training sessions hosted by the center and its users. Talent Zone activities connect with job fairs, vocational training institutions, science parks, universities, and private centers, while information about the European Office and regional incentives is readily available.

Additional perks include discounted usage tariffs across all technology center facilities, networking events, marketing services, newsletters, and opportunities to speak at conferences. Underground parking discounts, shared office space on each floor, and access to paid events round out the package for colleagues.

Requirements

Applicants include individuals, legal entities, or innovative assets that conduct high-value digital economy and technology R&D activities or other innovative work. The form of incorporation does not restrict eligibility so long as the activity aligns with the center’s mission.
