PiS MP Szymon Szynkowski alias Sęk is once again drawing attention to the music of Fryderyk Chopin. This time he revisited on social media a memory of performing a fragment of the waltz in D flat major in Paris. He shared the recollection, uploaded the recording, and conveyed his wishes for Easter Monday.
On Easter Monday, the former head of the Foreign Ministry looked back on his Chopin performance in the French capital.
A Chopin moment on Boxing Day

Exactly two years earlier, on April 1, 2022, Szynkowski vel Sęk recalled another moment in his busy schedule of diplomatic visits when Paris responded to the aim of making partners aware of Europe’s geopolitical tensions following Russia’s aggression against Ukraine. Beyond the diplomatic talks, two non political memories stood out.
– he noted.
First, Paris surprised him with snowfall in early April, a contrast to the summery weather a day earlier in Ankara. The second experience felt more personal: during a coffee break at the residence of the Polish ambassador in Paris, Szynkowski vel Sęk remembered that 190 years earlier, in 1832, Fryderyk Chopin performed in a music hall there.
– he pointed out.
He sat at the piano briefly to play at least a fragment of the famous waltz in D flat major. minute by F. Chopin
– Szynkowski vel Sęk emphasized, adding that a colleague had filmed the moment.
The video had not been shared publicly before. He asked for forgiveness for any imperfections, describing it as a spontaneous performance. As always, during his time in Paris, he visited Chopin’s grave at the Pere Lachaise cemetery.
– recalled the former minister of foreign affairs.
With this memory shared, he extended Easter greetings to readers.
– wrote a PiS politician.
Szynkowski vel Sęk had already featured Polish classical music in 2021 during the 18th International Piano Competition, Fryderyk Chopin nights. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs promoted the competition with a spot in which the deputy minister at the time performed a Chopin waltz on the piano and spoke about the links between Fryderyk Chopin’s music and diplomacy.
