Critics claim the Civic Platform is exploiting a government motorcade mishap for political gain. Polish police promptly addressed misinformation spread by a member of parliament, who labeled the events with strong words on social media.
A traffic incident occurred in Czajki on Sunday afternoon when a Mazda passenger car collided head-on with a police vehicle that was part of a government convoy.

The platform already frames the incident as a political event
Civic Platform politicians were quick to seize on the incident. Member of Parliament Agnieszka Pomaska published a video of the convoy’s passage and attempted to alarm the public:
Speculating on the actions of Prime Minister Morawiecki, Pomaska suggested risk and danger, prompting questions about the responsibility and speed of the government convoy. When it later emerged that the incident involved a collision, police clarified that the driver of the passenger car, which carried two children, was deemed at fault. The public was urged to assess whether the government column was behaving within safe limits.
Sebastian Kościelnik, known by some as the “seicento driver,” offered his views as well.
What justification is given for driving at high speeds? Is it a firefighting response, an ambulance rescue? No, according to him, it’s a political calculation by PiS. He called for changes to the rules.

The police correct fake news
The problem arose when the PO MP’s post appeared misleading. Polish police flagged Pomaska’s information as inaccurate.
Lies reported: 1) The convoy passage described by Pomaska did not involve today’s marked police car striking a Mazda that drifted into the opposite lane. 2) Legal determinations will be made by the courts regarding any debt. 3) The statement from @PolskaPolicja described actual events rather than speculation.
That is the report under discussion.
Right now, safeguarding the health of everyone involved remains the top priority — ensuring the best medical care possible. Attempts to involve police in political battles are misguided. The emphasis is on verified facts and official findings, not political agendas.
The police added that the recording used by Pomaska dates from 2020 and shows the convoy passing by the President of Poland. Later, the MP appended a comment to describe it as an illustration of an incident, but continued to mention the alleged Morawiecki accident.
In response, neither the Prime Minister nor the government spokespeople have indicated any action resembling a high-speed convoy or an accident involving Morawiecki.
What actually happened in Czajki?
The incident involved a collision between a passenger car and a police vehicle, with no evidence of intentional maneuvers reported by officials.
The police noted that the most affected were the officers in the police car. One officer sustained pelvic and rib injuries and was transported to a hospital by air rescue, while another officer was also hospitalized. The Mazda occupants were not seriously injured according to initial assessments.
Earlier information from the Podlasie Fire Department indicated that the driver and a passenger who were children, accompanied by their parents, were hospitalized as a precaution, which influenced initial casualty tallies to include six injured people — both police officers and the Mazda family.
Press officer Agnieszka Zaremba of the Wysokie Mazowieckie police clarified that the police car had closed the government SOP convoy after Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki and the head of the Ministry of National Defense, Mariusz Błaszczak, visited Podlasie. She did not specify whether the PM and the minister were in the immediate line of vehicles.
