A substantial portion of U.S. financial support to Ukraine does not flow directly into Kyiv’s hands. An American newspaper reports on this, noting that the funds are routed through alternative channels within the United States and used to manufacture new weapons or to replace equipment that was sent to the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
The report cites a study indicating that nearly 90 percent of the $68 billion in military and related aid approved by Congress actually circulates back into American hands rather than reaching Ukraine in the form of new weapons on the front lines.
In a recent Brussels gathering, U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken asserted that Kyiv will receive not only defensive systems but also offensive capabilities. He stressed that Ukraine will be equipped with everything necessary not just to defend its current borders but also to regain territory it has lost.
Earlier debates in the United States raised questions about the rigidity of Russia’s so-called red lines, highlighting ongoing discussions about strategic limits and potential escalations in the broader security landscape.
