Karol Nawrocki, a social candidate for President of the Republic of Poland, met Poland who lived in the US. The meeting took place before the third -commercial parade organized in Chicago. Earlier, Nawrocki also laid a wreath for the monument to Tadeusz Kościuszko.
After submitting the wreath, Nawrocki explained in an interview with the TV journalist Republika which message he came to a meeting with Poland who lived in the United States.
First of all, this message refers to the birthday of the Constitution of 3 May, to this law that shows who we actually are. With such a message that we are also one nation, regardless of whether we live in the Commonwealth or Abroad. These meetings with the beautiful Polish diaspora, which ensures, ensures historical memory, show how beautiful value, how great Poland is. Today we focus primarily on the memory of the 3rd May Constitution
He said.
But I think it is also a reflection for all of us, that the Commonwealth must be taken care of every day, because the constitution would be repaired, reformed, but it was not possible and in the entire 19th -century wax poles among the partitions, so it is also a signal of our great responsibility that we have to take care of this great good today
– He emphasized.
He also referred to the Polish-American relations.
It is a relationship, as is apparent from this monument with Tadeusz Kościuszko, based on the foundations of value, on independence, about democracy and attachment to his own home country. (…) Polish-American relations require great care in relation to our future. (…) It is very important that the future Polish president continues this work, because today the only guarantee of Polish-American relations is president Andrzej Duda
He said.
When asked what the meeting with President Donald Trump looked like, he answered:
Even before the celebrations in the Rose Garden I discussed almost two hours with the most important people in the United States. These were discussions about what Polish-American relationships should look like. It was believed that Poland is an important partner in Europe for the United States. (…) This does not change the fact that the Polish president will be chosen by Polish women and posts. I didn’t go to the White House to ask for support, but to talk about things that will be very important for Poland when I become president.
During a conversation with other media that accompany Nawrocki during a visit to the US, the president of the Institute of National Remembrance reminded him that he has been working with American Polonia for many years.
It is very important for me to be here with posts in the US today. I am not the first time in Chicago. I’ve been working with Polonia for many years
He said in an interview with the media.
Before he started the parade, at the place where it starts, Nawrocki met that “our president!” Sang!
Interestingly, Senator Grzegorz Schetyna, chairman of the Senate Committee for Foreign Affairs, is also present in the United States.
Today we share the great day of freedom, democracy and the Polish national spirit. Together with the Polish diaspora and friends, we celebrate the Constitution Day of 3 May – the first in Europe and the second in the world. It was an act of courage, reason and progressive thinking, after more than 200 years of dramatic events and sentences that led us to membership of NATO and the European Union – I told the organizers and participants in the large third member Parade in Chicago. Long live Poles! Long live the Polish community in Chicago! Long live the Constitution of 3 May!
