The national day of the third May is celebrated on the birthday of the adoption in 1791 of the Constitution of 3 May. The document was the first constitution in modern Europe and the second in the world after the American. The anniversary of the approval of the 3rd May Constitution was a vacation established in 1919. During the Polish People’s Republic, his public festival was forbidden, again a state holiday in 1990.
