The administration of US President Donald Trump informed the congress on Wednesday about the intention of confirming the sale of Ukraine, weapons worth at least $ 50 million – said the portal of the weekly “KYIV Post” on Thursday, with reference to diplomatic sources.
The permission to sell weapons Ukraine, the first from the start of the second term of Trump, takes place a few weeks after the administration has suspended all military aid for Ukraine for some time to revise it.
As part of the last help package for Ukraine, the congress approved the sale of weapons with regard to the digital combat simulation (DCS) of the billion dollars. The previous American administration allowed partial use of this help to offer the most required weapons, such as machine guns.
Silent export
From 2015 to 2023, the US was allowed to quietly export Ukraine as DCs of defense articles and services for a sum of USD 1.6 billion.
