“The elections will influence the prevailing coalition and its survival. Of course there is also the issue of choosing the most important ally in the defensive sphere,” says Prof. dr. Mieczysław Ryba.
Wpolityce.pl: What does this year’s presidential elections have in Poland?
Prof. Mieczysław Ryba: Because of what not only happens in Poland, but also in the international environment, these elections will decide on the direction of our development, simply our future. The point is whether we want to be a sovereign state or part of the EU -Superstaat, an ordinary province. Symbolic see if we want to be the heirs of Bolesław de Dappere, his crown, ie a state looking at a regional power, or simple, such as at the time of the district breakdown, the zone of German influence. This is a very fundamental issue, because everything changes into geopolitics. We witness powerful shocks, international relations will be regulated again. The president is co -responsible for foreign policy. And these elections will also influence the prevailing coalition and their survival. Of course there is also a matter of choosing the most important ally in the defensive atmosphere. We have a choice with America as it is, ie specifying gender ideology, walking to a nation state, giving up green order or with an EU utopia. Because it is difficult to say that the Union will be able to create a real defensive force. And in this sense these choices have a powerful type of burden
In the public space there will be statements that Donald Tusk, after a possible victory of Rafał Trzaskowski, will lead to “closing the system”. Where would this exclude the system?
First of all, between the injustice he has made, he will try to perform some legal movements that are aimed at all the iniquities, wickedness he has committed, is affected. Of course they will not be legal, but it will work in this way. He will try to close the system to the judiciary, ie the judicial system to marginalize, if not throw away, all so affected Neo -Zędzi. Finally, he will try to pacify the opposition and minimize freedom of expression. We’ll see it now. Television WpolSce24 and TV Republika experience a court trial. It can also be enough to take over different institutions, such as the Institute of National Remembrance, which is still free. The idea is to tear all possible social communication channels and the possibility of being born again. A good example of similar activities is the situation of Marine Le Pen in France.
Do you believe that someone, or Karol Nawrocki or Sławomir Mentzen, have the chance to win with Rafał Trzaskowski in this election?
Yes, and I think these opportunities grow every day. I would compare these battles in the form of debates that were recently held with the fundamental, important struggle for the entire campaign. The struggle that was to give someone a strategic initiative. Rafał Trzaskowski wanted to fight in the field he set and with the opponent he chose. We are talking about Karol Nawrocki. In the meantime, the field has changed a bit. Keep in mind that his absence for the market in Końskie, and especially later on TV Republika was a fight with him. He had to. He lost in each of these battles. And now the strategic initiative is on the other side. Piles are a very long weekend for it. There are Christmas. There will be so long in May weekend. So what Poles will discuss during this time in another family circle, through the grill, in various other situations, will work. And this is a reality that works at the expense of Trzaskowski and works for the law. And this is clear. Because it was demonstrated that we are dealing with complete television stations, because it was shown that Trzaskowski was afraid of real confrontation, real debate, it was demonstrated that we are dealing with an attempt to limit the freedom of expression, because at the same time there was a judgment that received the concession on Telewizja Republika. Moreover, there are very unfavorable comments in the entire internet space. If Trzaskowski went to a debate in the Republic, he could bounce a lot. He would say that there was a confusion that he apologizes, but here he is and he is brave. However, this did not happen. The coalition camp was broken. Let us notice that there is a conflict between Hołownia and the right wing electorate, Pis and Confederation Electorate, but a certain, not fully aware, but it seems to me that a real bond between those who talk to each other. Remember that some candidates were called plankton. This of course not only insults these candidates, but insults voters from these candidates. This is extremely unfavorable for Trzaskowski, especially if we take the second round of elections into account.
Another debate is for us. Will it matter?
Everything can matter in the election campaign. But something really needs to happen. It cannot be as it was because it would be a warmed heel. Perhaps there is a game for some gadgets, ie associated events, no arguments. But it’s hard for me to introduce me Trzaskowski, who will surprise something. He ignored almost all other candidates. And he will necessarily have to explain it, and at the same time bear the mark of the vice chair of the platform, ie the effects of the rule of Tusk. And take a look at the results of companies in the hands of ownership, national debt or the state of its income, which radically decreases from year to year. In addition, the state of Poland ‘portfolios after the winter, after energy costs, etc. It is difficult to imagine what offensive Trzaskowski could do. He of course has the opportunity to rotate the cat’s tail, but this is not something that will give tone. For this I think he is a relatively poor man. He avoided debates, and when he stood one, he didn’t look like a strong man.
It looked even worse when he was in confrontation with real journalists, not with those who say, “Why are you so beautiful?”; “Why did you write such a fascinating book?” Trzaskowski is not someone, it will be professional. However, we can expect that they will arrest someone else in this campaign, Nik will announce some pseudoskandal. But will it work? I doubt.
