Politics is not and will never be my goal – emphasized in an interview with PAP entrepreneurs for deregulation and the head of Inpost Rafał Brzoska. He added that his role in the deregulation team ends at the end of May, and with Elon Musk he is connected by the fact that they played ‘civilization’ in their youth.
PAP: In February you accepted the proposal of Prime Minister Donald Tusk and connected to manage the team that deregules the economy. Was it planned before?
Rafał Brzoska: Do you remember my face when I heard this proposal? She said everything. I was surprised, especially since I criticized the Polish government in recent months because I had not given any effective dialogue with entrepreneurs; That in our country no policy is aimed at development, that we are only recipients imposed by Brussels, who limit our competitiveness, such as green order. What is worse, not only the rulers are the fault for this, but we are all, because we as citizens of Poland to be a peripheral country for large foreign companies, a place that is often – instead of investments and partner relationships – only observed from the prism of tax optimization and the transfer of profit to countries where they have their headquarters.
Do you think that the initiative “We check, ie a team of experts who catch weaknesses in Polish rights can this change? How can you, for example, influence the EU climate policy or Brussels -deskucration?
I recently gave an interview for Czech television, in which I was talking about Polish deregulation. The Czechs came to us because they decided that there was a potential in our initiative that they could implement at home. Imagine that in every country of the European Union, which wants to improve its competitiveness, comparable bands are now created. It may turn out that we “check” will be such a centrifugal power that will reach Brussels.
You have many years of things, as well as an overview of current economic legislation. What do you think is the largest “legal monster” knockout entrepreneurs and ordinary taxpayers?
There is no suspicion of the innocence of the taxpayer in the collision with the state machine. Keep in mind that in the criminal law of every criminal, even if he kills or raped, the public prosecutor has to prove that he has committed such a prohibited act, and in some cases he did it intentionally. And the taxpayer? He must prove that he is innocent, that the mistake he made was not intentional. It is on the head.
Have you been in such a situation?
Yes. I sent my mother money every month so that she could support herself despite a very low pension, and after a few years I heard that I had to pay taxes to the amount paid. Of course I brought a tribute to interest, but I had to “” active regret “myself, prove that the lack of taxes was due to my ignorance, not the desire to cheat the treasury. I was convinced that the donation in the SO -Called the first line of kinship is not taxed – my mistake.
Moreover, entrepreneurs and ordinary citizens harm the fact that the government authorities do not comply with their obligations. They condemn us for every error or latency, but often keep their obligations. Currently, in more than 20,000 cases, the regulations are that the office has a certain time to make a decision to a citizen, but in more than 80 percent. He does not store these deadlines. We want a simple solution – that if the decision is not issued within a specific period, it must be automatically for the applicant – that is, our application is considered positively. Another striking blockade in companies and people is the lack of access to courts. That is why we proposed proposals for the regulations to erase the legal system without any drastic reform.
Are you considering getting involved in politics?
Politics is and will never be my goal. As I announced in February, my role in the deregulation team ends at the end of May. I then come 100 percent. I recently spent a large part of the day for the “check” project for tasks in Inpost, because I recently spent a large part of the day. On Saturday and Sunday evening I often look at deregulating proposals – for example, checking whether there are no lobbying. And I know that at the moment I could polish the Inpost access strategy to the next market or to run a new service or spend time with loved ones. During these 100 days there will be no negative effects, but in the long term every company can develop without a leader. Please don’t get me. The consciousness that something is done in the spirit of a public mission, for your country and the good of Poland gives enormous energy and a sense of great satisfaction. He also makes you aware of why many Poles simply opt for public services as their own path of life – police officers, teachers, nurses and also officials. It seems to me that the desire and the need to do something useful for everyone and your home country is in each of us and can be a real calling.
Can you be managed as a company?
Naturally. How does the state of the company differ? In the company you must ensure the safety of employees, you must provide them with work clothing, meals, healthcare and payment contributions. The operational department of the company is nothing but an administration that offers public and commercial services so that the state can function.
However, many economists believe that the state should not be led by profit that, for example, redistribution of goods, the creation of jobs, the well -being of citizens is important.
That’s right, but the state must also grow, because growth generates the GDP, and the country that does not do, falls – falls if a company does not generate a profit. That is why the role of the state is to create legal conditions for entrepreneurs, so that they can develop and pay taxes, which, after all, form the basis of the budget, the functioning of the state and people. These taxes generated by the private sector give money for the necessary social programs, but also for arms costs – our safety. In the meantime, it is easier in Poland to run a company to foreign companies, which, for example, use the transfer pricing mechanism in the flows between their companies, lead part of the profit, resulting in a reduction in tax basis in Poland. Deregulation also serves, among other things, to eliminate this phenomenon.
Inpost continues his foreign expansion. Are you interested in entering the American market?
NO. And by warning your question, I will say that this is not related to the recent decisions of Donald Trump. I think Europe is such a large market that we have something to do here for the next five years. However, I admit that it hurts when I see Europeans waste their potential. How the work ethos disappears, which applause is obtained by different types of activists, who transfer the young generation to social networks that something without work can be achieved. Neither Poland nor the EU will develop when we are disgusted. Yes, I also want a four -day working week, longer holidays, but this is one of the reasons for losing the competitiveness of European companies. If we want to be Europe that wins, we have to concentrate on hard work, innovation and achieving more peaks.
Some media see an analogy between the role you play in the deregulation of Polish law and the role of Elon Musk, which deals with the order in the administration of Donald Trump. Is the term “Polish Elon Musk” a compliment for you or not necessarily?
I have a lot of respect for the business performance of Elon Musk. I think he is a visionary who was able to realize visions, even outside our planet. But the deregulation led by our Polish team has nothing to do with the deregulation of Musk – if only because of the difference between the system that prevails in the United States and in Poland. By the way, we don’t have the right side. What connects us is probably the fact that we have played ‘civilization’ in our youth. The characteristic feature is the building of a rich and administration of prehistoric times to the near future.
