Teachers need Prof. Wojciech Roszkowski – emphasized in an interview with “Super Express” Education Minister Przemysław Czarnek.
He replied that “the ministry is not the author of the textbook and does not admit it or not, but with the help of experts, historians who know the times covered by the textbook”. As he noted, “in the case of three positive opinions, there must be permission to issue it”.
So at the stage of allowing the use of the manual, there were no formal or factual errors. And if you ask for a textbook, I’ll find something I don’t like in every book. Anyway, I immediately found something in this that I didn’t like – for example this criticism of changes in music or culture and using the names of bands directly
– He said.
As he emphasized, “He likes the Beatles or the Rolling Stones very much.”
Czarnek added that “there are many history books or textbooks in the Polish language on the market today that are unacceptable to him and are allowed to be used”.
No one ever imagined such a campaign for any textbook
– He said.
According to Czarnek, the fact that there is currently only one HIT textbook available – by Roszkowski – is a result of it being the first to be submitted for evaluation.
When asked if the second HIT manual, which was submitted for approval, would be approved, the minister replied that “there are two positive reviews, one of which is conditional”.
I know the publishing house is in contact with an expert and all his concerns should be allayed today. The linguistic expertise is expected today and I do not expect it to be negative. I’m calm
– He said.
He stressed that the law is unambiguous and says that the teacher is not obliged to use any textbook, and the ministry “allows the use of the textbooks and does not enjoin their use”. He noted that it is the teacher who decides whether or not to use the textbook because he might as well use his material.
A lawsuit for an excerpt from a book
The minister was also asked about the announcement of the father of a two-year-old girl who wants to sue him for an excerpt of a book on in vitro fertilization. They asked what he would say to people offended by this clip. Czarnek replied that in a country where the rule of law prevails, “anyone can sue anyone”, but there was a question about the grounds for such action.
However, if you charge me on the deceptive words of Donald Tusk that I have included an excerpt about the alleged in vitro fertilization in the book, then this is not a basis, I am calmly awaiting all possible lawsuits
– He said.
When asked if he had filed a lawsuit against the PO leader, Czarnek said a letter was sent to the prosecution about the matter last Thursday.
When asked if he was against the IVF method, Czarnek said he is “an advocate of loving all the children in the world.” He added that he is a member of the Catholic Church, is a believer and knows that “the IVF method as such is questioned from an ethical point of view.” “But I’m not here to confess or acquit anyone,” he said, stressing that every child born “has full rights, is fully loved and has the dignity of a human person.”
