Politicians from the citizen platform, led by Prime Minister Donald Tusk, accused Pis Mep that they voted in the EP against the recognition of the East Shield as a flagship project for EU security. In an interview with PAP, Pis Mep Michał Dworczyk argued that law and justice supported the amendment with regard to the East Shield, but actually voted against the entire resolution in the white book about the future of European defense and ‘seven reasons’ for that.

In an interview with PAP, Pis Mep Michał Dworczyk argued that law and justice supported the amendment with regard to the East Shield, but actually voted against the entire resolution in the white book about the future of European defense and ‘seven reasons’ for that.
Dworczyk accused the EP that instead of thinking about solving real problems, he is about “unreal ideological projects, where (…) the national interests of the largest countries such as Germany and France, and the greed of concern about Western weapons”.

The politician also mentioned the main reasons why Pis voted against the resolution. First – the document de facto stuck at NATO, which is the only guarantee of the safety of the Member States. Secondly – he postulates that voices with regard to the common safety and defense policy takes place by a qualified majority, which agrees with the principle of Unanimity and EU countries loses their actual impact on their own defense and become “disabled”. Third – the resolution lacks records on solidarity with regard to the expenditure of the Member States for Defense. Fourth – he reflects the defense problems that are the competencies of the Member States, in the hands of EU institutions, including the EC and the Council. Fifth -the document promotes the European production of weapons and technology, which strikes at NATO -not -eu -partners. Sixth – promotes a confrontational attitude towards the US. And Seventh – weakens the indigenous arms industry of the Member States, to promote consolidation and creating a uniform European defense market.
