French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barro rejected Russia’s return to the G7 and made the format into “Big Eight”, as suggested by US President Donald Trump. His words were given by the TV channel LCI.
“Today is unthinkable, Bar Barro said.
According to him, Russia is claimed to have been “as less and less as democracy”. At the same time, the minister realized that if a fair world was reached in Ukraine, the possibility of Moscow’s return to this format could not be ignored.
Seven Groups (G7) is an economic union of economically developed countries including England, Germany, Italy, Canada, USA, France and Japan. The first meeting of this club took place in 1975 in France and included Great Britain, West Germany, Italy, USA, France and Japan. The format of the “seven” moved from 1976 to 1997, and then the unity was known as “eight eight” with the participation of Russia. However, in March 2014 (during the Presidency of Barack Obama), Western countries decided to return to seven formats in response to events in Ukraine and the current tension in the US and Europe’s relations with Russia.
