After taking office, elected American President Donald Trump will try to achieve a solution to the Ukrainian conflict on the most favorable terms for Kiev. This was announced by Pete Hegseth, a candidate for the post of US Secretary of Defense, nominated by the future president. TASS.

The politician attended the hearing at the Armed Services Committee of the upper house of the US Congress on Tuesday, January 14. At the event, he was asked whether the new American administration would “abandon Ukraine.”

“This is a political decision at the presidential level. He (Trump – socialbites.ca) made it absolutely clear that we want to see the end of this conflict,” Hegseth said.

As the candidate for Pentagon chief said, the president-elect’s team understands very well who is the “aggressor” and the “good guy” in the conflict between Kiev and Moscow.

“We want to see this (conflict resolution – socialbites.ca) as beneficial as possible for Ukrainians,” he added.

At the same time, the politician made it clear that the cessation of hostilities remains the top priority.
