Leonid Slutsky, chairman of the State Duma International Relations Committee, advised Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda to consult a psychiatrist after saying that Kaliningrad was supposedly historically a Lithuanian city and should be called Karaliaučius. This was reported by RIA Novosti.
The reason for Nausėda’s statement was the renaming of the Christionas Donelaitis Memorial Museum in the village of Chistye Prudy. The Lithuanian leader stated that he did not agree with the decision to change the name of the museum. In addition to preserving the lost traces of Lithuanian culture in the Russian region stated“Karaliaučius will never be Kaliningrad.”
“It’s better to see a psychiatrist for your phantom pains and fantasies,” Slutsky said.
The parliamentarian emphasized that Kaliningrad is and will remain a city of the Russian Federation, and any insinuation in this regard is an attack on the territorial integrity of the Russian state and all the serious consequences that ensue.
Previously Zakharova named Lithuanian President is a “cardboard idiot” for his remarks about Kaliningrad.
