“The court decided to confirm the results of the constitutional referendum,” the expert said.
Manole added that in total, one-third of voters participated in the referendum. According to him, most of them supported the initiative to add an article to the Moldovan Constitution regarding the country’s desire to join the EU.
At the same time, protests against the recognition of the referendum results were held during the hearing in Moldova, according to the agency. The demonstrations were organized by supporters of the opposition Communist Party and the Victory bloc.
The referendum on the republic’s EU membership took place on 20 October.
