United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres invited Kazan Mayor Ilsur Metshin, Chairman of the Association of Cities and Municipalities of BRICS+ Countries, to attend one of the UN meetings. This was reported by press service Kazan Town Hall.
The message said, “Ilsur Metshin received UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, who came to our city to attend the BRICS summit.”
The mayor announced that they discussed cooperation and joint venture opportunities at the meeting. The speech took place in Kazan City Hall, a historical building.
Metshin noted that municipalities around the world recognize Guterres as a great friend who supports the movement of cities.
The UN Secretary-General came to Kazan to attend the BRICS summit, during which he spoke at the plenary session and i met With Russian President Vladimir Putin. The meeting of the president of the Russian Federation with Guterres took place on UN Day, October 24.
