Russian President Vladimir Putin changed the structure of the Council for Culture and Arts. The relevant decree was published at: website Official publication of legal regulations.
Among others, the council included director Nikita Mikhalkov, Channel One general director Konstantin Ernst, actor Konstantin Khabensky, Soyuzmultfilm head Yuliana Slashcheva, writer Zakhar Prilepin and singer Ildar Abdrazakov. Vladimir Medinsky, assistant to the head of state, became the secretary of the council, replacing the writer Vladimir Tolstoy, who left his post in May 2024.
In accordance with the updated structure of the council, directors Fyodor Bondarchuk and Alexander Kalyagin, as well as former director of the Bolshoi Theater Vladimir Urin, left it.
Many former council members retained their posts, including People’s Artist of the Russian Federation Nikolai Tsiskaridze, singer Polina Gagarina and director Karen Shakhnazarov (deputy chairman of the council).
