“Currently, those in power have stopped the development of the Polish army, they have to somehow hide their incompetence and are dealing with hatred,” Mariusz Błaszczak (PiS) told PAP after the announcement of the deputy head of the Ministry of National Defense, Cezary. Tomczyk, that he would submit a report to the prosecutor’s office in connection with the destruction of the TU-154M aircraft with tail number 102.
Today, Tomczyk informed the Sejm that he would submit a report to the prosecutor’s office regarding former heads of the Ministry of National Defense: Antoni Macierewicz and Mariusz Błaszczak, and former member of the Smolensk Subcommittee, Glenn Jorgensen. According to the deputy head of the Ministry of National Defense, “through negligence and deliberate action” they led to “the destruction of the TU-154M aircraft with side number 102”; it is a twin machine of the Tupolev, which crashed near Smolensk in 2010.
“They can’t do anything”
Referring to the announcement of the deputy head of the Ministry of National Defense, Błaszczak told PAP that “we are dealing with a hater.”
They can’t do anything. They have stopped the development of the Polish Army in fundamental matters related to the expansion of the Polish Army and related to modernization and equipment, and that is why they are engaged in hatred. They have to hide their incompetence somehow
– added the head of the PiS club.
According to Błaszczak, Deputy Minister Tomczyk’s activities “would be more useful if he were to search for the drone that entered Polish territory.”
I would advise Prime Minister Tomczyk to go to the Lublin region and look for the Shahed drone, which entered the territory of our country at the end of August this year
– said the former head of the Ministry of National Defense.
That’s what the operational commander said, and then Prime Minister Donald Tusk said maybe it was one drone, or maybe two drones.
– he added.
Unmanned aircraft
Błaszczak referred to information from late August this year, when Russia attacked fifteen oblasts of Ukraine with massive rocket fire, including Lviv Oblast, which borders Poland. The operational command subsequently announced that an unmanned aircraft had probably entered Polish territory; the object disappeared on radar in the municipality of Tyszowce south of Hrubieszów. The analysis of the flight path, speed and height at which this object moved – according to the military’s assumptions – allows us to assume that it was an unmanned aircraft, for example the Shahed type, which the Russians use in their attack on Ukraine.
Today in the Sejm, Deputy Minister Tomczyk answered a question from MPs of the Civic Coalition about the technical condition of the TU-154M aircraft with tail number 102, which was the subject of investigation by the Smolensk Subcommittee chaired by Antoni Macierewicz .
““Macierewicz lied many times”
Tomczyk said the Smolensk subcommittee carried out activities that led to permanent damage to the machine.
Macierewicz lied many times and said the plane was not damaged. He said the subcommittee did not cut away any structural elements or use grinders or hammers. Meanwhile, the evidence we have says something very different
– said the deputy head of the Ministry of National Defense, who presented photographic documentation and reports.
The Deputy Minister announced that he would submit a report to the Public Prosecution Service against: Macierewicz, Błaszczak and Jorgensen (who was a member of the Smolensk subcommittee until September 2020), who – as Tomczyk said – “through negligence and conscious action led to the destruction of an aircraft of great technical and financial value.”
