431 establishments are closed, of which about 200 require renovation work, ranging from minor to complete. That is why we are organizing green schools for students – said the Minister of Education, Barbara Nowacka, at the meeting of the flood crisis team that began on Sunday morning in Wrocław.
The Minister of Education announced during a staff meeting, which was attended by, among others: Prime Minister Donald Tusk said that in the area affected by the natural disaster caused by the flooding there are 3,044 institutions with a total of 412,000 students. children and young people from these areas.
We are of course ready to take the most targeted actions to help all flood victims as quickly and efficiently as possible.

Some of them are damaged or completely destroyed. We are ready (…) to support their reconstruction as soon as possible
– Nowacka noted.
However, the head of the Ministry of National Education stressed that at the moment it is mainly students who need help.

– she noted. She also said that Polish State Railways would provide free transportation to children attending green schools, and that local governments would provide accommodation and meals.
She also called on local government officials to report centers where children and young people can stay via the website zielonaszkoly.men.gov.pl. If there are students, curators will check these places.
They look at whether it is a safe place, whether children can stay there and whether extra activities are offered. It is not just about having a good time, but also about providing educational value and psychological support.

She also announced that the first group of students would go to the green school on Sunday.
