“I think it is too early, because there are situations that can still arise and there should be a quick session of the Sejm, but perhaps it will not be held at the moment because we are still waiting for difficult times. Let’s hope that this does not happen,” said Wiesław Różyński from the Polish People’s Party on the program “Guest of News wPolsce24”. As Zbigniew Bogucki from Law and Justice stressed, he completely disagrees with the “concept of a waiting state”.
The public, the military, all the services, firefighters, but above all, as I said, the residents of individual areas are doing everything they can to ensure that this wave does not cause the damage that we expect, and that it passes through these areas as little as possible. I think that perhaps we should wait a little longer and provide such support, introduce a law that would be adequate to the needs of the residents who are being affected.

“Can’t we wait?!”
What are we waiting for?! There are services there, there are representatives of the WOT, the army, there are residents, there are local government officials – they are working on the ground. Of course, we are all behind them, but we, MPs and senators, must work in parliament and work out the solutions that will be needed, that are already needed, for example, in Kłodzko, where the wave occurred. These people are waiting for help. This, unfortunately, is a repetition of the terrible practice of crisis management, that is, what Donald Tusk did on Friday. He said that the forecasts were not too alarming and that there were local floods or flash floods. On Saturday night we saw the tragedy already. We cannot wait. Waiting is a delay that the residents will not forgive us, and certainly not this government. The state is not there to wait, but to act

Politicians should not really interfere, the services are working, no one is delayed. There is the State Fire Service, there are volunteer firefighters, there is the headquarters of the Polish Army, there are soldiers and we are helping. Let’s save them now and help them, let’s provide food, help secure apartments, let’s help create conditions in which they can wait and dry out. We are not waiting for something to happen, the state and the services are working all the time, supporting people in need and securing the areas
