Michał Szczerba lost the trial for his accusations regarding the so-called NCBiR scandals. The court imposed a huge fine on the PO member.
The case was filed by CHIME NETWORKS. And according to the court ruling, the politician must apologize to this company.
According to the default judgment of the Białystok District Court, Szczerba was ordered to refrain from “violating the personal rights of the plaintiff by spreading false information through the mass media”.
Szczerba will publish a special statement at his own expense apologizing to the company “within seven days after the verdict becomes final.”
Places of publication of the statement
It turns out that the implementation of the court ruling could have very serious financial consequences for Szczerba. The court ordered him to publish the statement “before thirty consecutive programs were broadcast” on TVN24, Polsat News and Radio Zet.
If that were not enough, Szczerba is obliged to publish the same statement “for a period of thirty days on the main websites of Internet portals”: rmf24.pl, rmf.fm, tvp.info, polsatnews.pl, tvn24.pl, onet .pl, wp.pl , Fakt.pl, Wyborcza.pl, oko.press, Niezalezna.pl, Dobrze.pl, Wspolczesna.pl, Radio.bialystok.pl, Bialystokonline.pl, Tysol.pl, Głosykprzeglad.pl, as well as on the title pages in “thirty consecutive editions of “Rzeczpospolita”, “Sieci”, “Do Rzeczy”, “Gazeta Wyborcza”, “Fakt”, “Super Express”, “Kurier Poranny”, “Gazeta Współczesna”.
Szczerba will be required to publish a statement after the ruling becomes final.
